• Status of the association:

  • The Verein für mecklenburgische Familien- und Personengeschichte e.V. was founded in Tellow on October 22, 1997.
  • It was registered under the number VR 154 in the Vereinsregister (register of associations) of the Amtsgericht (district court) Güstrow, Zweigstelle (branch office) Teterow on April 15, 1998 .
  • The Verein für mecklenburgische Familien- und Personengeschichte e.V. was accepted as gemeinnützig (serving the public) by the Finanzamt (tax office) Malchin on May 6, 1998.

  • The annual membership fee is 25 Euro (since 2002)

• Aim:

  The aim of the Verein für mecklenburgische Familien- und Personengeschichte e.V. is the exploration, the maintenance and the promotion of the history of persons and families, heraldic, and related sciences. The aim will be reached by: 
  • Collection of genealogical and heraldic sources, their review and scientific analysis;
  • Publication of genealogical, heraldic and generally historical papers;
  • Edition of periodicals on family and personal history ;
  • Maintenance and extension of the association's library ;
  • Research consulting;
  • Promotion of the exchange of research results;
  • Maintenance of relations with other genealogical associations of domestic and foreign countries, especially by exchanging publications and giving research help as well as joint conferences.

• How to become an MFP member and support MFP

  Every new member will help us to increase our efforts for the support of the Mecklenburg genealogical research of all of us. Therefore we try to make it as easy as possible to join MFP. Unfortunately our statute is not translated yet. But some main aspects are described below:

  1. Some facts from the statutes
     • The aim of MFP is described above
     • Everybody can become an ordinary member
     • The membership will be valid after decision of the MFP board and the membership fee has arrived
     • You can cancel your membership to the end of the year by sending us a letter 3 months in advance.
     • The annual membership fee are 25 Euro (since 2002)
     • Donations (independent from membership) are very welcome
  2. I want to become a member, what do I have to do?
     • Print out the Application form for membership and fill in the required information
     • Arrange a check for the membership fee
     • Send both to the given address
     If you have any questions, of course you can ask by email. But how does the money have to be sent?
